Our Open Badges are moving to version 3.0: what's changing?

The new global standard for skills recognition

At PA360, innovation doesn't stop at learning. We're not content to simply offer the world's largest catalog of serious games on soft skills; we also want the recognition of acquired skills to be as secure, modern, and marketable as possible in the job and education markets.

That's why we're happy to announce an important technological breakthrough: our Open Badges are evolving and officially moving to the international 3.0 standard. This milestone is made possible by our strong partnership with our technology provider C-Box, the first platform in the world to achieve full 1EdTech Open Badges 3.0 certification for all categories.

But what does this update actually mean for our users?

The 4 major innovations of Open Badges 3.0

Until now, at the end of each Soft Skill Game , our users received a blockchain-certified digital badge. Today, this ecosystem is taking a further leap forward, aligning with the global Verifiable Credentials (defined by the W3C).

Here are the direct benefits for students, teachers, and professionals:

  • Absolute security and reliability: Thanks to the integration of advanced asymmetric encryption systems, 3.0 badges are completely tamper-proof. The authenticity of the certificate and the identity of the issuing institution (PA360) are guaranteed and verifiable in real time by any employer or institution.

  • Maximum portability (Interoperability): The new badges are designed to travel without borders. You can collect them in modern digital wallets, integrate them into your resume, and share them with one click on professional platforms like LinkedIn, definitively overcoming any technical barriers.

  • Transparency and rich detail: A 3.0 badge isn't just a visual certification, but a true information package. It contains detailed information on the specific skills trained, the assessment criteria passed, and alignment with international competency frameworks.

  • No stress about transitions: For those who already use our simulators, the update is invisible and automatic. The methods for receiving and sharing remain simple and intuitive, while those who own previously issued badges will continue to enjoy full support and full validity.

An added value for schools, universities and companies

For schools and universities, being able to issue level 3.0 badges means providing students with unassailable, context-rich credentials, perfect for academic guidance and entering the world of work.

For companies and public administrations, it translates into a transparent, standardized, and easily monitorable tool for tracking ongoing training, upskilling, welfare initiatives, and staff onboarding.

Soft skills are the driving force of the future, and from today our badges are the safest, most modern, and most universal way to demonstrate them to the world.

Teamwork

However, teamwork is at the core of soft skills, fostered by collaboration, networking and sharing. After all, we human beings are social creatures!

Far from being exhaustive, this list should also include another skill we often overlook— lifelong learning, which entails the constant need for learning and upskilling, embracing open-mindedness, and being curious about diversity, different cultures and perspectives.

Working on soft skills means encouraging improvement across the cognitive, emotional and motivational levels—even through innovative methods.

Therefore, it involves facilitating personal and professional growth and development so as to be competitive and make progress in our lives and careers.

Transversal competencies as a top priority

Setting everything else aside, according to the World Economic Forum in its update of "The Future of Jobs Report 2025", soft skills are an absolute priority for companies worldwide.

The study highlighted some particularly striking findings:

- 94% of companies consider soft skills to be more important than technical skills. What a discovery!

- The most sought-after skills are: critical thinking, creativity, empathetic leadership, and change management. Easier said than done!

- Soft skills are strategic for tackling the evolution and dominance of new technologies. An undeniable truth.

- Interpersonal communication, the ability to build effective relationships, and problem-solving are almost mandatory skills. They always have been!
